Policies & Procedures

At Coastal Learning Center we recognize the vital role parents play in the success of our faith-based Pre-K program. Adhering to our policies and procedures is a crucial partnership between parents and our center, ensuring a harmonious and enriching experience for each child. By aligning with our guidelines, parents contribute to the creation of a secure and nurturing environment that supports the values of faith, learning, and community. Together, we build a foundation for a positive educational journey, fostering a collaborative spirit that echoes the principles of our faith-based curriculum.

Attendance

  • This is a nine month commitment, and it is important that your child attends class regularly.

  • Classes WILL NOT be made up if there is inclement weather.

Classroom Management

  • Reasonable consequences will be used in the classroom.

  • Time out will only be utilized for specific occasions

  • The goal of CLC is for behavior issues to be handled within the classroom as much as possible

  • Parents will be contacted if behaviors persist

Sick Policy

  • Children must be fever free for 24 hours (with no medicine).

  • If vomiting or diarrhea, child must be symptom free for 24 hours.

  • If others in your family are sick, please be mindful of our school community in those cases.

Communication

  • Communication from CLC may be made using (but not limited to): text messages, emails, and our Coastal Learning Center Parent Connection Group Page

  • Other methods of communication will be our Weekly Outlook & Magnetic Board located in the lobby at CLC.

Pick Up & Drop Off

  • Curbside /Parking Lot drop-off/pick-up is strictly prohibited.

  • All students must be signed in & signed out daily with the times of each occurance

  • Promptly pick up your child once class is over

  • If your child is not picked-up/dropped-off in a timely manner, then you will be charged an addition fee of $25.

Classroom Expectations

  • Our desire is to talk about, demonstrate, and model the behavior we expect out of our students.

    1. Always listen

    2. Raise your hand to speak

    3. Be kind to others

    4. Do your best!

  • Eyes watching (point to eyes),

    Ears listening (hold ears),

    Voices quiet (putting a finger up in front of our lips),

    Bodies still (holding ourselves still- close to a “self-hug)

Birthdays

  • We highly encourage the celebrating of birthdays in our classroom community.

  • Birthday treats are welcome to be sent in or brought in at 12:15pm

  • Parents are more than welcome to come in at 12:15pm for the birthday celebration

Water Bottles

  • Water bottles are highly encouraged in class

  • Students may have access to their water bottle at all times

  • Please label their water bottles before sending them in

Withdrawing from CLC

  • We require a 30-day notice to withdraw from class at Coastal Learning Center.

  • If you fail to give a notice you are still required to pay a final full month of tuition.

Lunch & Snack

  • We dismiss at 12:30 with a mid-morning snack

  • Please make sure you send a daily snack in with your child

  • We ask that no candy or sodas are sent in

  • We offer {an optional} “Lunch Bunch” with a pick up time of 1:00pm *{with an additional monthly fee}

  • Lunches must be sent in for “Lunch Bunch”

Disciplinary Action

  • CLC has the right to dismiss any student from class/classes for any reason

  • No disrespectful or rude behavior will be tolerated at any time.

  • If there are ongoing behavior issues then the child will be asked to leave the classroom. *The teacher will make the parents aware of the situation.

  • No physical abuse will be tolerated. Hitting, kicking, etc will result in a mandatory parent conference and possible removal from the learning center.

Extra Clothes

  • Send in one set of seasonal clothes for your student in case of accidents, spills, etc.

  • Please put the extra set of clothes in a large Ziploc bag & label with your child’s name

  • Each seasonal set will be sent home after another is sent in its place

Personal Belongings

  • Please label book bags, coats, or any other attire or belongings your child brings to school

  • If you cannot locate an item, please check our “Lost & Found”

  • We are not responsible for lost items, including but not limited to, clothing, jewelry, toys or any other objects brought in from home
